Bubble bath for Misty and Rain - Animals Asia
For young moon bears Misty and Rain there can be few items more novel than a bubble bath. It’s not the first time we’ve used “child-friendly” bubbles as enrichment for cubs and both their curiosity and sense of fun were obviously working overtime as a result. Misty took to it straight away but Rain had to be convinced by her sister – though she got there in the end.

This is the heartwarming moment that Kapotwe, a young female shoebill, first spread her wings in Zambia’s Bangweulu wetlands after having been rescued as a chick from poachers.
The thieves steal the giant birds, which can stand up to 4ft tall, as chicks to sell to sell to the zoos and private collectors, who will pay up to $20,000 for a single bird.
Kapotwe was kept in a small grass hut in a fishing village, where she found and rescued by Zambia Wildlife Authority scouts before she could be sold on by the shady traders…

Taonius is a deep-sea squid who swims with its tentacles held upright and can swivel its giant, owl-like eyes straight forward.
Its two larger whips have several different types of clawed sucker on them for getting a good grip on a wider range of prey.
